Professor D. Thusitha Mendis has been appointed as the Director General of Archaeology in Sri Lanka, effective from March 14th, 2024. This appointment underscores Prof. Mendis’s dedication and contributions to the field of archaeology. Previously, he held the position of Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) at the University. Prof. Mendis also served as the Head of the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Management at FSSH. Since 2017, he has been a Professor in Archaeology. This achievement is a proud moment for Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and the Vice Chancellor and University community extend their best wishes for his success.
