The Faculty of Technology at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka proudly hosted the Second Undergraduate Research Symposium of Technology (URSoT) on March 19th, 2024. This annual event fosters a culture of innovation among faculty and students, showcasing their research and development endeavours. URSoT 2024 cantered around the theme “Technology for a Sustainable Tomorrow.” Student research projects explored advancements in five key disciplines: Electrical and Electronic Technology, Materials Technology, Food Technology, Bioprocess Technology, and Information and Communication Technology.

The inauguration ceremony welcomed esteemed guests including Prof.  (Mrs.) GAS. Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor, Deans of faculties, directors of centres and units, esteemed panel members, faculty staff, and students. Professor Kapila Rathnayaka, a leading expert from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, delivered the keynote address. He inspired young researchers and delved into the topic of “Data Mining for Business Analytics: Concepts, Techniques, and Applications.” The afternoon session culminated in the awards ceremony. Medals and cash prizes were awarded to students for outstanding achievements in oral presentations and poster presentations.
