The Inter-University Basketball Championship 2026 was successfully conducted from 26th August to 30th August 2026 at the Indoor Stadium, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The championship brought together university athletes from across the country, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among participating universities.
The event was organized by the Department of Physical Education, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, under the supervision and guidance of the Vice Chancellor, all Deans, and other senior administrative officials of the university.
A total of 28 teams, comprising 14 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams, participated in the championship. The event provided a valuable platform for university athletes to demonstrate their basketball skills, competitive spirit, and commitment to sporting excellence.
The championship featured a series of exciting and competitive matches in both men’s and women’s categories. The participation of universities from across Sri Lanka contributed to the success of the event and strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation among university students.
