The Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, held the inaugural ceremony for Intake XXV (2026) of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme on 2nd August 2026 at the Faculty Auditorium. The event marked the formal start of the new intake’s studies. It brought together University leadership, Faculty academic staff, distinguished alumni, an invited industry expert, and the incoming MBA candidates.
Proceedings opened with the registration of guests and the ceremonial lighting of the oil lamp, followed by the National and University anthems. Dr. (Mrs.) S.N.S. Dahanayake, Director of the MBA Programme, delivered the welcome address, and Prof. H.M.B.P. Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty, reflected on the Programme’s growth over twenty-five intakes. Alumnus Mr. Chaminda Lokubarana shared how the MBA shaped his career, Vice Chancellor Prof. P.M.B. Jayathilaka formally welcomed the new cohort, and Mr. Nuwan Pathirana of Sampath Bank PLC delivered a keynote on sustainable, responsible management practice. A student of the new intake spoke on behalf of the cohort, and Mr. Wijitha Dissanayake, Senior Assistant Registrar, proposed the vote of thanks.
