The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka organized a “Sharing Best Practices” workshop on 28 July 2026 to strengthen the University’s quality assurance culture by exchanging successful practices implemented across faculties and administrative divisions.

The workshop was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P.M.B. Jayathilake, Director of the CQA, Prof. W.K.D. Keerthirathne, Deans of all Faculties, Heads of Departments, the University Librarian, Registrar, Bursar, Directors of Centres, Coordinators of Faculty Quality Assurance Cells, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars, and other academic and administrative staff involved in quality assurance activities.

During the workshop, the Deans, University Librarian, Registrar, and Bursar presented innovative and effective practices adopted within their respective faculties and divisions to enhance academic and administrative quality. These presentations highlighted successful approaches to governance, service delivery, academic excellence, and quality enhancement that could be adapted and replicated across the University.

The presentations were reviewed by an expert panel comprising Senior Professor Aruni Weerasinghe, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Prof. Y. Nanthagopan, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, and Dr. D.K. Hettiarachchi, former Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The panel provided constructive observations and recommendations to further strengthen initiatives to enhance institutional quality.

The workshop served as an important platform for institutional learning by promoting the dissemination of best practices, encouraging reflective self-evaluation, and fostering continuous quality improvement across the University. It reinforced collaboration among faculties and administrative divisions, supported evidence-based quality assurance practices, and strengthened alignment between faculty-level initiatives and the University’s strategic quality assurance objectives. The programme further enhanced the University’s commitment to continuous improvement and preparedness for institutional and programme reviews while promoting a culture of excellence throughout Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
