
The Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO) of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka successfully organized a School Invention and Innovation Programme titled “Aluth Sithuwillak, Nawa Nipayumak” on 7 July 2026 at Mitripala Senanayake Central College, Anuradhapura.
The programme was conducted in response to a request from the Madawachchiya Divisional Secretariat, with the active support of the Divisional Secretary and Vidatha Scientific Officers. The initiative aimed to inspire school students to develop innovative thinking, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset while introducing them to the importance of science, technology, and innovation in addressing real-world challenges. The programme featured interactive sessions delivered by a multidisciplinary team of resource persons comprising academic staff and undergraduate students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Applied Sciences, and the Faculty of Technology of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Through engaging discussions, practical activities, and experience sharing, participants were encouraged to transform creative ideas into innovative solutions with potential social and economic impact.
This outreach programme reflects KTTO’s continued commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening university–school–community partnerships to promote knowledge transfer and cultivate the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
