The Mosvold-Martinus Foundation (MMF) continues its longstanding commitment to promoting educational equity by supporting academically talented undergraduate students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through the MMF AKO Scholarship Programme at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
The first phase of the programme, implemented from April 2023 to March 2026, provided financial assistance to 50 undergraduate students, enabling them to pursue their higher education with reduced financial hardship and successfully continue their academic journey.
Building on the success of the initial programme, the Mosvold-Martinus Foundation has renewed its partnership with Rajarata University of Sri Lanka by launching the MMF AKO Scholarship Plus Programme for the 2026–2029 period. Under this expanded initiative, 64 undergraduate students have been selected to receive scholarships.
The Scholarship Programme extends well beyond financial assistance. In addition to scholarship support, it offers opportunities for personal development, leadership training, and professional development to nurture well-rounded graduates who are academically accomplished, socially responsible, and equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to society.
To mark the commencement of the new programme cycle, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Mosvold-Martinus Foundation and Rajarata University of Sri Lanka on 2 July 2026, reaffirming the shared commitment of both institutions to expanding access to higher education and supporting student success.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Nimal Martinus, Founder/Managing Trustee of the Mosvold-Martinus Foundation, Mr. Ranjith Wijekoon, Head of the Programmes of the Foundation, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, the Deans of the Faculties, the Registrar, the Bursar, the Senior Assistant Registrar of the Student Services Division, other university officials, and the scholarship recipients.
Rajarata University of Sri Lanka expresses its sincere appreciation to the Mosvold-Martinus Foundation for its continued generosity and unwavering commitment to investing in the education and future of deserving undergraduates. This enduring partnership continues to create life-changing opportunities for talented students, empowering them to achieve their academic aspirations and develop into future leaders who will contribute positively to the nation and society.
