Professor H.M.B.P. Ranaweera officially assumed duties as the 9th Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies at the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka at a ceremonial event held on 8th April 2026 at the Dean’s Office.

The occasion was graced by distinguished members of the University community, including the Vice-Chancellor, Deans of Faculties, Librarian, Registrar, Bursar, Heads of Departments, as well as academic, administrative, and non-academic staff of the Faculty.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ranaweera highlighted the importance of collaboration and collective commitment in advancing the Faculty. He emphasized the need to work closely with academic and non-academic staff, students, alumni, and industry partners to further enhance the quality, relevance, and visibility of the Faculty of Management Studies.

He also expressed his sincere appreciation to his predecessors for their dedication and invaluable contributions, which have laid a strong foundation for the Faculty’s continued growth. With a shared vision and unified effort, Prof. Ranaweera conveyed his confidence in achieving new milestones and strengthening the Faculty’s position as a leading centre of excellence in management education and research.
