Rajarata University of Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Agromate Consortium (Pvt) Limited on February 14, 2024, with the objective of commercializing High Protein Biscuits for both children and adults. The signing ceremony was held at the University premises and was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Mrs.) GAS. Ginigaddara, the Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Suranga Silva, the Managing Director of Agromate Consortium (Pvt) Limited.

The ‘High Protein Biscuit’ represents a collaborative research endeavor between the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences (FMAS) and the Faculty of Agriculture (FoA) of the University.The research team comprised Dr. Subhashini Senadheera, Senior Lecturer from the FMAS; Dr. DWMMM. Kumari from the FoA; Dr. Harshi Weerakoon, Senior Lecturer, FMAS; and Ms. Nethmini Silva, a student from the FoA. Representing University at the event were Dr. Janaka Pushpakumara, Dean of the FMAS; and Prof. Manoj Samarathunga, Director of the University Business Linkage Cell. In attendance from Agromate Consortium (Pvt) Limited were Mr. HLTP. Sugathadasa, General Manager, and Mr. Prabath Ganegoda, Executive Officer.
