The drought has ended for fresh harvest, “Akwessa – lyrical presentable, aesthetic art festival – 2024” was magnificently held on the 20th of February at the Sugathadasa De Silva Open-air Theatre of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka from 6.30 p.m. onwards. The event was embraced by the esteemed chief guest, Prof. (Mrs.). GAS. Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Deans, Academic and Non-academic officials, and undergraduate students of the six faculties namely, Agriculture, Applied Sciences, Management Studies, Medicine and Allied Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, and Technology.
The event was organized and coordinated by the President of the University Art Council, Prof. TGA. Thalwattha, and the other faculty coordinators. The academics, non-academic, and students collaboratively showcased their talents and creativity through various mediums such as music, dance, poetry, and drama on the stage. The major aim of this art festival was to foster vibrant cultural exchange and art fandom among the university community.
