The Inter-Faculty Sports Tournament 2026 was successfully conducted from 14th June to 05th July 2026, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and inter-faculty collaboration across the university.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Physical Education under the supervision and guidance of the Vice Chancellor, all Deans, and other senior administrative officials of the university.
A total of 40 trophies were awarded, including Overall Champion, 1st Runners-up, and 2nd Runners-up titles. In addition, 37 Best Player awards were presented to outstanding men and women athletes in recognition of their exceptional performances.
The tournament concluded with a grand closing ceremony held at the university grounds, graced by the Chief Guest, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.M.B. Jayathilaka. The ceremony featured a vibrant and well-coordinated program, culminating in the presentation of Best Player awards and Overall Championship trophies.
At the conclusion of the tournament:
- The Faculty of Technology emerged as the Overall Champions.
- The Faculty of Management Studies secured the 1st Runners-up position.
- The Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences secured the 2nd Runners-up position.
The tournament marked a significant milestone in promoting student engagement and sporting excellence within the university community.
