Sarasavi Sirasa 2026 Brings Media, Talent, and Entertainment to Rajarata University

The Faculty of Agriculture of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka successfully hosted “Sarasavi Sirasa 2026” on 25-26 May 2026 as a parallel event to its Sliver Jubilee celebration, in collaboration with Sirasa FM and the Capital Maharaja Group. The event created a vibrant platform for students to engage with media professionals, showcase their talents, and gain exposure to the dynamic world of broadcasting and communication. The programme was organized following a series of pre-event activities, including voice and screen tests and the “Unique Voice” competition conducted at the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka .
The day commenced with a Media Workshop held at the Faculty of Technology Auditorium, where students received valuable insights into modern media practices, communication skills, and career opportunities within the media industry. Simultaneously, the Commercial Credit Podcast Series provided an engaging platform for discussions on youth development, innovation, and professional growth.
A day prior, a Product Showcase was organized at the Faculty of Technology Cafeteria, enabling students to interact with industry representatives and explore emerging products and services. Throughout the day, participants actively engaged in networking opportunities and knowledge-sharing sessions that bridged academia and industry.
The highlight of the programme was the grand “Sarasavi Sirasa” Musical Evening, which attracted a large gathering of students, staff, and visitors. The event featured outstanding performances by renowned Sri Lankan artists together with the energetic performances of the Sachee Maduranga Orchestra, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of music and entertainment.
The Faculty of Agriculture extends its sincere appreciation to Sirasa FM, the Capital Maharaja Group, all participating artists, industry partners, staff members, student volunteers, and attendees whose contributions made the event a remarkable success. Special gratitude is extended to the university administration, including the Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, academic and non-academic staff, and the organizing committee for their unwavering support and commitment.
“Sarasavi Sirasa 2026” successfully strengthened the connection between higher education, media, and industry while providing students with valuable opportunities for learning, exposure, and personal development. The event stands as a memorable milestone in the university’s ongoing efforts to enrich student life through innovative and engaging extracurricular experiences.
