The Medical Students’ Action Committee successfully organized a donation program in Rajarata to support individuals affected by recent floods caused by adverse weather conditions. Essential items—including medication, dry rations, and educational materials—were distributed to three villages registered under the Mihintale Divisional Secretariat: Kahapattilagama, Nochchikulama, and Mudiruppuwa, as well as to children residing at Saliyapura Maha Vidyalaya and Dutugamunu Rest Hall.
The Medical Students’ Union, in collaboration with the Anuradhapura Leo Club and St. Joseph’s Leo Club, successfully conducted the second medical camp aimed at improving the living conditions of the flood-affected community in Lindawewa, Medawachchiya. More than 100 residents received medical attention, including clinical assessment and the provision of essential medications. Antibiotics were also distributed as a preventive measure against leptospirosis, ensuring timely protection for the vulnerable population.
Additionally, in Meegalewa, another severely affected area, a medical assistance and first-aid program was conducted to address urgent health needs. This was organized by the 15th Batch of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Thambuttegama MOH Office, with the active participation of academic staff members and medical students of the faculty.
