The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and Rajarata University of Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen industry–academia collaboration.

Under this initiative, students of the Faculty of Management Studies will gain internship opportunities, scholarships, and recognition for academic excellence in capital market–related subjects.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Tushara Jayaratne, Deputy Director General of the SEC, and Dr. P. H. G. Janaka Pushpakumara, Acting Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University. The program is implemented by the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and coordinated by Mr. V. G. Nuwan Sameera ( Coordinator – Faculty Industry Interaction Cell), with the guidance of Prof. (Mrs.) J. S. Kumari (Head of the Department) and Prof. P. M. B. Jayathilake (Dean, Faculty of Management Studies).

This partnership marks an important step in preparing our undergraduates with the skills, exposure, and confidence to excel in the capital market sector.
