The Rajarata University of Sri Lanka marked its 30th anniversary with a series of religious ceremonies on February 5 and 6, 2026. Founded in 1996, the institution commemorated the milestone with an all-night pirith chanting session on February 5 at 19:00, held on the premises of the University Administrative Building. The following day, a traditional alms-offering (heela dana) was presented to the Maha Sangha, adding spiritual significance to the celebrations.
Organized under the patronage of Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. P.H.G. Janaka Pushpakumara, the meritorious events witnessed enthusiastic participation from the university community. Deans, Registrar, academic and non-academic staff, and students collectively contributed to the success of the programme, reflecting unity and shared cultural values.
