The prestigious Inauguration Ceremony of the International Research Symposium of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (ISYMRU 2025), themed “Beyond Boundaries: Advancing Human and Planetary Well-being,” was held on October 8th, 2025, in conjunction with the Research Excellence Awards 2025. The event was enriched by an inspiring keynote address delivered by Mr. Rohan Pethiyagoda, a distinguished biodiversity scientist, Linnean Medal Winner (2022), and Rolex Award Winner (2020). The Chief Guest of this occasion was Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, whose presence added great prestige to the event.

The ceremony was further graced by Dr. P. H. G. J. Pushpakumara, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, together with the Deans of the six faculties, dedicated academic and non-academic members, and enthusiastic research presenters. The inauguration, held at the Main Auditorium of the Faculty of Technology, marked the successful commencement of an intellectually stimulating and inspiring symposium, celebrating research excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The symposium featured insightful academic sessions conducted under four main thematic tracks, and was successfully held on October 9th, 2025, from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Sollertia Building of the Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
