Annual Christmas Carols - 'Gloria Eterna '19'

Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka hosted its annual Christmas carols, 'Gloria Eterna '19' at Prof. Sarath Edirisinghe auditorium on 6th January, with the Dean of the faculty Dr. Senaka Pilapitiya gracing the occasion as chief guest. 
 
Auditorium was filled with colour, festive cheer and songs celebrating the spirit of Christmas, with a captivated audience comprising FMAS staff, their families, demonstrators of academic departments and students of FMAS. Read more >>

 

New Insights Into Leptospirosis (Mee Una) In Sri Lanka

Researchers from Rajarata Leptospirosis Research Laboratory confirms multiple species of Leptospira causing human leptospirosis in Sri lanka. The leptospirosis research team from the Leptospirosis research laboratory, DoCM, FMAS revealed the presence of at least five different species of organisms causing leptospirosis in in Sri Lanka. Read more >>

 

Undergraduate Research Symposium of FMAS 2019

Undergraduate Research Symposium of FMAS 2019 was held in the tutorial complex of FMAS, on 19th July 2019. Research work done by 32 research groups of the 10th batch of medical undergraduates, under the supervision of academic staff members of all departments of the FMAS, presented their research work during the session.

FMAS received the activated charcoal

Haycarb PLC, a Hayleys group company who is a leading global supplier of activated carbon products, recently donated the FMAS researchers 200 packs of activated charcoal required for a new randomized controlled trial on activated charcoal for paracetamol poisoning which will be commenced soon. Professor Sisira Siribaddana, Dean, FMAS received the activated charcoal for the trial from the Managing Director of Haycarb, Mr. Rajitha Kariyawasan. Read more>>
