                                                                                      Terms of Reference (TOR)


The Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) in collaboration with World Band (WB) commenced a project called “Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD)” in 2018 to improve the quality of higher education of state universities on par with the reputed universities in OECD counties. Under the AHEAD, the Department of Agricultural Systems is planning to develop the existing academic program to enhance the job opportunities for the students specialized in the department modules.


2 .Objective

The ultimate objective of the consultancy is to review and improve the draft departmental academic program prepared by the National consultant.


3.Scope of the work

Review course titles, contents, teaching, learning and assessment methods of academic courses of the department comparing international standards.

Submit the reports with comments and suggestions to improve the draft report


4.  Required qualification and experience

A PhD in  Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agribusiness, and Agricultural Systems Management or any other  relevant field

Proven experience in development, assessment and evaluation of curriculum

Understanding of the key issues involved in higher education in the Asian region specifically in Sri Lanka

6.  Honorarium

       A total of US $ 4000 will be paid as honorarium for the task. Draft report will be sent to the selected consultant and the reviewed report is expected to submit within two weeks.


7. Application


Applicants who meet above criteria will need to send a self-developed application attaching a detailed CV to the department e-mail (agrisystemsrusl@gmail.com) on or before 20th September 2019. It is not required to reapply for those who have already applied
