The process of debate offers profound and lasting benefits for the students as well as other participants. With its emphasis on critical thinking, effective communication, independent research and teamwork, debate teaches skills that serve individuals well in understanding and critically analyzing key issues parallel to the theoretical course works.
Accordingly, the final year students majoring in Agricultural Economics and Extension have successfully conducted a debate on "The performance of Sri Lankan Paddy Marketing Board" under the supervision of Dr. L.P. Rupasena as the lecturer in-charge of the course.
Similarly, another debate on "Community Development Approaches" was conducted by the third year students aligned to the course "Developmental Extension & Agricultural Institutions."
